VEED's Video Background Removal delivers automated subject extraction at $0.0225 per 30 frames with edge refinement enabled. Trading manual masking workflows for AI-powered segmentation, the model handles both human subjects and objects without green screen requirements. Built for content creators and video editors who need production-ready background removal at scale.
Use Cases: Social Media Content | Product Demos | Video Compositing
At $0.0225 per 30 frames with refinement ($0.015 without), VEED's background removal positions as a cost-effective solution for video segmentation workflows requiring transparent output.
| Metric | Result | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Cost per 30 Frames | $0.0225 (refinement on) / $0.015 (refinement off) | 67 frames per $1.00 with edge refinement, 67 frames without |
| Output Formats | VP9 with alpha or dual H264 (RGB + alpha) | VP9 for single-file transparency, H264 for higher RGB quality |
| Subject Detection | Person or object mode | Configurable detection algorithm based on subject type |
| Edge Quality | Optional foreground refinement | Toggleable edge enhancement for extraction precision |
| Related Endpoints | Fast variant, Green screen mode | Speed-optimized and green screen-specific variants |
VEED's approach replaces frame-by-frame rotoscoping with automated subject detection and extraction. Unlike traditional chroma keying that requires controlled lighting and green screens, this model analyzes video content directly to separate foreground subjects from backgrounds.

Video Background Removal Fast ($0.015/30 frames) – The fast variant trades 33% cost savings for the optional edge refinement feature. Fast variant prioritizes throughput for high-volume workflows where slight edge artifacts are acceptable, while the standard endpoint maintains refinement capability for polished output at $0.0225 per 30 frames.
Video Background Removal Green Screen ($0.015/30 frames) – Green screen mode optimizes for chroma key scenarios where controlled lighting exists. Standard background removal handles natural environments and mixed lighting conditions at 1.5x the cost, making it ideal for user-generated content and field footage without studio setup.
sync.so Lipsync 1.9.0-beta – VEED's background removal focuses on subject extraction and transparency generation for compositing workflows. Sync.so addresses audio-visual synchronization for dubbed content, serving different stages of video production pipelines with distinct technical requirements.
