Which program should I apply to?
If you're bootstrapped or indie and your product is a direct generative media app, start with the Builder Grant. If you have meaningful traction or you're VC-backed and already scaling on fal, apply to the Startup Program. Apply to one; if it's the wrong fit we'll move you across.
Can I get both programs?
No. It's one program per company. Pick the one that matches where you are today; as you grow, you can graduate from the Builder Grant to the Startup Program.
How is “usage on fal” measured for bumps?
It's based on your monthly spend on fal specifically, not your total generative-media spend across other vendors. Once you cross a threshold, reach out to us and we'll bump you to the next pack — no re-application needed.
Who is eligible?
Both programs are currently open to teams based in Europe and Asia. One application per company every three months. Credits are for building your own product; no reselling or transferring.
What does a partner referral code do?
Each accelerator, university program, VC and ecosystem fund we work with has a unique referral code. Entering it prioritizes your application and carries real weight in how we review and size your grant.
How long does review take?
The Builder Grant is designed to be lightweight and mostly async. For genuine gen-media apps we aim to say yes quickly. The Startup Program usually includes a short intro call so we can size your credits and point you to the right models.
