TBC mischief 1 is the world's first neuron-derived video model. Generate videos 5x faster at a fraction of the cost, so you can explore more ideas, experiment freely, and make more mischief.
The client provides a convenient way to interact with the model API.
npm install --save @fal-ai/clientThe @fal-ai/serverless-client package has been deprecated in favor of @fal-ai/client. Install the new package and update your imports — see client setup.
Set FAL_KEY as an environment variable in your runtime.
export FAL_KEY="YOUR_API_KEY"The client API handles the API submit protocol. It will handle the request status updates and return the result when the request is completed.
import { fal } from "@fal-ai/client";
const result = await fal.subscribe("tbc/mischief-1/image-to-video", {
input: {
prompt: "Photorealistic nighttime pumpkin field, viewed from a low fixed camera through curling vines and mist. Keep the large ribbed pumpkin in the center foreground stable in size, position, stem, and natural texture. A classic jack-o'-lantern face visibly forms on its front: two triangular eyes, a small triangular nose, and a wide jagged smiling mouth, all emitting warm orange light through clean carved openings. Finish with the transformed glowing jack-o'-lantern holding still amid the dark field, fog, and distant pumpkins.",
image_url: "https://tbc-public-assests.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/fal/seed-image.png"
},
logs: true,
onQueueUpdate: (update) => {
if (update.status === "IN_PROGRESS") {
update.logs.map((log) => log.message).forEach(console.log);
}
},
});
console.log(result.data);
console.log(result.requestId);The API uses an API Key for authentication. It is recommended you set the FAL_KEY environment variable in your runtime when possible.
import { fal } from "@fal-ai/client";
fal.config({
credentials: "YOUR_FAL_KEY"
});When running code on the client-side (e.g. in a browser, mobile app or GUI applications), make sure to not expose your FAL_KEY. Instead, use a server-side proxy to make requests to the API. For more information, check out our server-side integration guide.
The client API provides a convenient way to submit requests to the model.
import { fal } from "@fal-ai/client";
const { request_id } = await fal.queue.submit("tbc/mischief-1/image-to-video", {
input: {
prompt: "Photorealistic nighttime pumpkin field, viewed from a low fixed camera through curling vines and mist.
},
webhookUrl: "https://optional.webhook.url/for/results",
});You can fetch the status of a request to check if it is completed or still in progress.
import { fal } from "@fal-ai/client";
const status = await fal.queue.status("tbc/mischief-1/image-to-video", {
requestId: "764cabcf-b745-4b3e-ae38-1200304cf45b",
logs: true,
});Once the request is completed, you can fetch the result. See the Output Schema for the expected result format.
import { fal } from "@fal-ai/client";
const result = await fal.queue.result("tbc/mischief-1/image-to-video", {
requestId: "764cabcf-b745-4b3e-ae38-1200304cf45b"
});
console.log(result.data);
console.log(result.requestId);Some attributes in the API accept file URLs as input. Whenever that's the case you can pass your own URL or a Base64 data URI.
You can pass a Base64 data URI as a file input. The API will handle the file decoding for you. Keep in mind that for large files, this alternative although convenient can impact the request performance.
You can also pass your own URLs as long as they are publicly accessible. Be aware that some hosts might block cross-site requests, rate-limit, or consider the request as a bot.
We provide a convenient file storage that allows you to upload files and use them in your requests. You can upload files using the client API and use the returned URL in your requests.
import { fal } from "@fal-ai/client";
const file = new File(["Hello, World!"], "hello.txt", { type: "text/plain" });
const url = await fal.storage.upload(file);The client will auto-upload the file for you if you pass a binary object (e.g. File, Data).
Read more about file handling in our file upload guide.
prompt string* requiredWhat happens in the video. Long, specific prompts steer WAN best.
image_url string* requiredhttp(s) URL of the condition image the video starts from, at most 25 MiB and 100 megapixels. A JPEG or PNG within the endpoint's byte budget (2.5 MB by default) renders as sent; anything larger, and any other format, is re-encoded to fit (a JPEG stays JPEG, anything else becomes lossless PNG), scaled down only as far as needed and never below the requested resolution; where that resolution stops the shrink, it is sent as a JPEG of slightly lower quality instead.
resolution ResolutionEnum480p = 832x480, 720p = 1280x720 (landscape, 16 fps). Default value: "720p"
Possible enum values: 480p, 720p
duration DurationEnumClip length in seconds: 3 or 5. Rendered at 16 fps on the model's 4N+1 frame grid, so the clip runs slightly longer than asked: 3 s -> 49 frames (3.0625 s), 5 s -> 81 frames (5.0625 s). Billing follows the requested seconds, not the slightly longer rendered clip. Default value: "5"
Possible enum values: 3, 5
seed integerOmit for a random seed; the seed used is echoed back. Fixes the render only: the prompt rewrite takes no seed, so send prompt_processing=original for reproducible results.
image_transform ImageTransformEnumHow the condition image is fitted to the render size: center_crop preserves aspect, resize stretches. Default value: "center_crop"
Possible enum values: center_crop, resize
prompt_processing PromptProcessingEnumoriginal: render the prompt as typed (trimmed). enhanced: rewrite it against the condition image and the clip shape first. Falls back to the typed prompt when the rewrite fails or is rejected, or when rewriting is off. Either way TBC's policy service screens the prompt and the image before anything renders. Default value: "enhanced"
Possible enum values: original, enhanced
