fal Agent is built on fal Assets, your media library on fal. Assets is enabled for your account when you first use the agent.

Automatic registration

Every generation the agent makes, and every file you attach, is saved to your Assets library and linked to its chat. Attached inputs are ingested like a library upload, with an automatic caption and a search embedding. A file you have uploaded before is reused, not uploaded again. Nothing is lost when a chat ends. Open Assets, or use the @ picker’s Assets tab, to find any file from any chat.

Reuse in a chat

  • Type @ and open the Assets tab to attach any library item.
  • Open Generations in the palette to refer to an output from this chat.
  • Drag a tile from the media rail into the composer, or use Attach to chat on the tile.
The agent can search your library on your behalf. It searches by text, by image similarity, and by video similarity. Ask for what you remember:

Collections

A collection is a named group of assets. The agent can create collections, add assets to them, and list what they hold. Add a collection to a project to make its contents part of the project context.

Characters

A character is a reusable identity with one to twenty reference images and a description. Once a character exists, you pick it from the palette’s Characters section, and the agent keeps the identity consistent across scenes, models, and media types.
The agent can create a character for you from images in the chat, or you can create one in Assets. Character cards in the chat show the portrait, the handle, the bio, and the collections the character appears in. The character-design skill adds reference sheets, expression sheets, and outfit variations.

Media lifetime

Files in Assets follow your account’s retention policy. Self-serve accounts keep files forever. Enterprise accounts and teams under an organization can set a shorter lifetime. See Retention.
