About this role
We are seeking a Sales Manager, Commercial to lead a team of Account Executives & Account Managers responsible for bringing fal.ai’s generative media infrastructure and AI inference platform to fast-growing companies, developers, startups, and enterprises building AI-powered products.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on sales leader with strong operational discipline, excellent coaching instincts, and the ability to help a team sell highly technical products into product, engineering, AI, and business stakeholders. This person should be excited by the speed of the AI market, comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment, and capable of driving repeatable revenue growth while continuously developing their team.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and developing a team of Commercial Account Executives & Account Managers focused on generating pipeline, closing new business, expanding strategic customer relationships, and achieving individual and team quotas.
This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Commercial AEs and AMS
- Drive revenue growth by helping the team sell fal.ai’s AI infrastructure, inference, and generative media capabilities to commercial customers.
● Build predictable forecasting, strong pipeline hygiene, and consistent sales execution across the team.
● Coach reps through complex technical sales cycles involving developers, product teams, AI teams, and executive stakeholders.
● Review deals, improve discovery, sharpen messaging, and help the team clearly connect fal.ai’s platform value to customer use cases.
● Partner closely with senior leadership, product, marketing, and customer teams to align sales strategy with company priorities.
● Ensure a steady flow of qualified pipeline through execution, account planning, and effective opportunity management.
● Foster a high-ownership, high-learning team culture that values curiosity, urgency, customer impact, and continuous improvement.
● Analyze sales performance, conversion data, pipeline trends, and rep activity to identify opportunities for improvement and scale what works.
Qualifications
- Proven track record managing and developing high-performing sales teams, ideally in SaaS, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, AI, or technical platform sales.
● Strong understanding of the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, qualification, technical evaluation, business case development, negotiation, upsells, renewals and closing.
● Experience coaching AEs and Ams through technical or product-led sales motions with multiple stakeholders.
● Ability to motivate, inspire, and hold a team accountable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build trust with customers.
● Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use sales data to improve forecasting, pipeline generation, conversion rates, and team performance.
● Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining execution discipline.
● Interest in AI, generative media, developer platforms, and the infrastructure powering next-generation AI applications.
